The illustrations, a frontispiece in four colors and forty-nine full page drawing in two colors by William Sharp capture the mood of each song. Notes by John Tasker Howard reveal all the circumstances under which Foster lived and wrote.
Dust jacket has edge wear and small tears. Cloth boards have some shelf wear on bottom edge. Pages are clean and crisp. Very nice collector book of Stephen Foster songs to be sung or played on the piano.
